Our Initiatives
January 1, 2026
1. Poli-Sea;
The name “Policy Sea” is our initiative to address maritime and ocean governance policy. The word is derived from the word “Policy” which refers to the research and analysis of policies, while “Sea” represents the location of the business in the Maldives, which is surrounded by the Indian Ocean. The combination of these two words creates a unique and memorable name that accurately reflects the purpose and location of the centre. Overall, “Policy Sea” is a fitting name for a research centre that focuses on policy analysis in the Maldives.
2. MOFSAP;
Maldives Organic Food Security Agricultural Program is a food security policy pilot and intervention program designed to increase food security of the Maldives using free market demand for organics in the tourism sector to scale up domestic agriculture production in selected crops.
3. YouthSIDE;
Maldives Youth Innovation for Sustainable Development in Tourism, Heritage and Environment Conservation (YouthSIDE) is an innovative national level partnership program led by youth civil society organisations bringing together dynamic and professional youth experts to mainstream and implement Sustainable Development Goals and United Nations 2030 Agenda. The program is led by CSOs in partnership with relevant Government Authorities including the Ministry of Education and The Maldives National University as well as support from private research think tanks including Maldives Centre for Policy Research.
4. Gen-Knowledge+:
Generation Knowledge+, positions youth centrally towards new frontiers of knowledge generation and production processes, taking youth voices to youth agency. The Gen-Knowledge+ develops publications that are edited, peer-reviewed, and published by the members of the network. The Gen-Knowledge+ publication is open to submission from young authors who would like to publish in relation to policy, practice and scholarship of youth and diplomacy. We encourage young authors to reach out to the members of the network as they develop their ideas.
